Arrifana Cottage

Ideally situated cottage in the idyllic and secluded fishing village of Arrifana. The cottage offers magnificent ocean views and the beach is one of Europe`s most attractive surfing venues, well known for its reef-breaks. You will also be delighted with the impressive natural environment, dominated by the Southwest Natural Park, with towering cliffs, vast stretches of pristine beaches and sand dunes rolling down the Atlantic coast and pine and eucalyptus woods – a paradise for bird watchers, nature lovers, artists, photographers and soul-searchers. The lovely golden sandy beach is a short stroll from the house. The local beaches are great for swimming and water sports – Arrifana and Amado attract surfers from all over the world. The area has interesting market towns and unique fishing villages worth exploring, not least the picturesque Moorish town of Aljezur, only a ten minute drive away, as well as Monchique, noted for its mountains and famed health spa, and the ancient coastal town of Lagos.

It is 50 miles from Faro International Airport, an easy hour`s drive north west coast on the A22 motorway. While a car is essential here, there is a reliable bus service Faro/Aljezur/Faro if you prefer to take the scenery en route.

Once you’re in Arrifana, you’ll realise that this is a place that the Portuguese come to rest and play. The atmosphere is unspoilt with a secluded beach fringed by rocky hills. The Arrifana house is on a hill which overlooks the small bay – a sight to wake up to. There are a few small local restaurants which offer local delights if you don’t want to cook in the very adequate kitchen in the house. The house is clean and equipped with modern facilities.

If you want to experience a breathtaking view of the beautiful Arrifana beach, hugely popular for surfing, then you should spend a few days here! The cottage has a great location right on the top cliff of the beach. It's also really confortable and only ten minutes away from restaurants and other main facilities. Appreciate a gorgeous sunset while cooking a grilled fish on the cosy terrace overlooking the sea. Come and enjoy a miracle of nature!
